In-Home Detox for Cocaine Addiction

Overcome Your Cocaine Addiction With In-Home Detox

Cocaine addiction can impact a person’s relationships, health, and career. Whether a person has a new addiction or has been grappling with addiction for years, cocaine addiction recovery is possible. Our addiction recovery program starts with home cocaine detox, the most crucial part of any rehabilitation program. Detox gradually weans the patient’s body from its dependency on the effects of cocaine and removes all traces of the drug. Detox is essential because it not only helps the body begin the healing process, but also prepares the patient for therapy or counseling for a complete addiction recovery.

Home Detox from Cocaine: How it Works

Here’s what patients can expect from in-home cocaine detox with Concierge MD:

  • Initial evaluation: Our medical director assesses the patient’s medical history, history of cocaine use, current prescription medications, and other health and lifestyle factors.
  • Full examination: We perform a full examination as well as conduct lab tests. These help us fully understand the patient’s current health in order to develop a custom detox program that is optimized to the patient’s needs. This examination also gives us a baseline to gauge the patient’s progress through detox.
  • Consultation and building the detox plan: After we have reviewed the examination results, our medical director consults with the patient to create an at-home detox plan. This plan is designed to work with the patient’s current health, lifestyle, medications, and recovery goals in order to achieve optimal results.
  • The home detox process begins: At the start of the detox program, our in-home nurse arrives at the patient’s home. One of our nurses will stay onsite 24/7 with the patient to monitor the detox process, make changes to the home detox plan as needed, and answer any questions that the patient or patient’s family may have.
  • Ongoing monitoring and lab tests: Throughout the detox process, our nurse monitors the patient’s blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration rate, sleep, and nutrition, as all of these may be affected by withdrawal. Our nurse may also perform periodic lab tests (determined by the patient’s individual detox plan). Medications may be prescribed to manage withdrawal symptoms and improve the patient’s comfort during detox, and the nurse will adjust these medications as needed. Ongoing monitoring helps us gauge the patient’s progress through detox so that we can quickly adjust the plan to match the patient’s changing needs.
  • Post-detox addiction rehabilitation services: Following a successful in-home detox, Concierge MD provides further at-home addiction recovery services such as therapy and counseling. These additional therapies help patients address cocaine use triggers and develop coping mechanisms, preventing relapse.

Cravings for cocaine can last for months or years. That’s why we don’t just help patients get clean, we help patients develop coping techniques and healthy lifestyle to prevent relapse.

Concierge MD provides in-home detox and addiction rehabilitation services for our patients. Every care plan is tailored to help our patients achieve their addiction recovery goals and maintain these results. Best of all, we are here every step of the way to help our patients reach a lasting, addiction-free life.

In-Home Cocaine Detox: The Concierge MD Difference

Both inpatient and outpatient addiction rehab services require patients to make a significant time commitment, either by regular travel to a location within the city or by a single, dedicated trip out of town. Some people find the group support of traditional rehab services beneficial during their recovery journey. Others prefer the privacy of private, in-home addiction recovery.

Concierge MD brings comprehensive detox and addiction rehabilitation services directly to our patients. Every treatment plan is designed to help our patients overcome their addiction and stay clean for life. We provide outstanding support and care during every step of our patients’ addiction rehabilitation journey.

Home cocaine detox with Concierge MD is…

Personalized, At-Home Attention

Everyone’s needs are different, and no two detox plans are alike. Our medical director consults with every patient to develop an addiction recovery plan designed for the patient’s lifestyle, health, and personal needs. This plan is adaptive, changing along with the patient’s progress so that patients always receive the right care for their recovery.

In-home detox makes the start of the addiction recovery journey as comfortable and convenient as possible. One of our nurses will stay onsite 24/7 during the home cocaine detox process. Our nurse monitors the patient’s progress through detox, makes changes to the detox plan as needed, and answers any questions that the patient or the patient’s family may have.

Convenience and Quality

Addiction recovery is a challenge. Why make it harder with travel? Concierge MD eliminates the need for patients to travel across town or to another city by coming directly to the patient’s home in the greater Los Angeles area.

We offer the same quality of service as traditional inpatient and outpatient rehab clinics. Our nurses are experienced with coaching patients through the challenges of detox. We are more than happy to answer any questions that family and friends may have about addiction, drugs, addiction rehabilitation, and more.

Following in-home detox, Concierge MD offers additional rehab services including therapy, counseling, and coaching. These services help patients develop positive lifestyle habits and coping techniques that help patients kick their addiction for good.

Experience That Shows

Cocaine addiction can cause problems that affect a person’s entire life, from career to relationships to health. Since long-term cocaine use can lead to tolerance – the need for increasingly greater doses in order to achieve the desired effect – cocaine can potentially cause a fatal overdose.

Medically-managed home detox lays the foundation for a successful recovery from cocaine addiction. Whether a patient has a recent or long-term drug addiction, our at-home detox program can help. We have many years of experience helping patients recover from cocaine addiction, making reaching a drug-free life easier than ever.

What is Considered a Cocaine Addiction?

Cocaine is a highly addictive stimulant drug. Although it can be used by physicians for medical reasons, such as a local anesthetic during surgery, cocaine is illegal as a recreational drug.

Cocaine comes in two forms: a white powder that can be inhaled through the nose, rubbed into the gums, dissolved and injected into the bloodstream, or a rock crystal that can be smoked. Regardless of the form used, cocaine addiction happens when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on the effects of this drug.

Cocaine addiction can be dangerous. With prolonged use, a user can build up a tolerance to the effects of cocaine. As a result, the person needs increasingly higher doses to achieve the desired effect. A high enough dose of cocaine can cause a potentially fatal overdose.

On top of that, cocaine may be cut with additives such as sugar or flour, unbeknownst to the user. Some dealers add other drugs, such as synthetic opioids, increasing the risk of overdose. Some individuals use cocaine alongside other illicit drugs for enhanced effects. The addition of these additional drugs further increases the possibility of overdose.

When used, cocaine gives the user an immediate ‘high’, during which time the person may feel happy, energetic, or alert. Some users, however, may experience paranoia and unpredictable behavior. This high may last up to 30 minutes, after which it is followed by a crash that may include a lack of energy, irritability, an intense craving for more cocaine, anxiety, agitation, or sleepiness.

Unlike many other drugs, where withdrawal symptoms begin hours after the final dose, withdrawals from cocaine can begin with traces of the drug still in the body’s system. Some people may take cocaine to seek relief from withdrawal symptoms.

Cocaine withdrawal symptoms are more psychological than physical and include:

  • Agitation
  • Restless behavior
  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Increased appetite
  • Unpleasant dreams and/or insomnia
  • Slowed thinking

Although withdrawals from cocaine are not life-threatening, some individuals may experience suicidal thoughts.

Whether a person has recently developed an addiction to cocaine or has a longstanding issue, recovery is possible. Medically managed at-home cocaine detox with Concierge MD ensures that this process is safe and as comfortable as possible for the patient and their family.

Signs and Symptoms of Cocaine Addiction

It is not always easy to identify if a person has an addiction, as there are few visible signs of withdrawal (such as the shaking or vomiting that comes with withdrawal from other drugs). A change in a person’s normal habits is one of the first indications that they may have a drug addiction.

Signs a person may have cocaine addiction include:

  • The person cannot stop using cocaine despite trying to do so
  • The person cannot reduce the amount of cocaine they use despite trying to do so
  • A change in attendance of work, school, or other personal obligations
  • Withdrawal/detachment from typical activities, hobbies, and interests
  • Continued use of cocaine despite potential career or personal consequences
  • The person spends a significant amount of time obtaining or using cocaine
  • The person needs increasingly larger amounts of cocaine to achieve the desired effect
  • The person uses large amounts of cocaine whenever possible

There are many potential short-term and long-term side effects of taking this drug.

Short-term side effects can include:

  • Happiness
  • Increased energy
  • Alertness
  • Hypersensitivity to stimuli
  • Paranoia
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Restlessness
  • Dilated pupils

Long-term side effects vary depending on the main method of use, but can include:

  • Snorting: Loss of smell, nosebleeds, runny nose, or difficulty swallowing.
  • Smoking: Increased risk of respiratory infections, cough, or asthma.
  • Oral consumption: Bowel decay from reduced blood flow to the area.
  • Intravenous injection: Scarring or collapsed veins, increased risk of contracting bloodborne diseases, and/or skin infections.
  • Tolerance to cocaine
