What is a
Gut Zoomer Test?

What is a
Gut Zoomer Test?

The Gut Zoomer is an advanced stool-based microbiome analysis that goes well beyond conventional gut tests. By examining hundreds of microbial species and functional biomarkers, it reveals not just what's in your gut, but how well your digestion, immunity, and barrier function are performing. This test helps identify microbial imbalances, inflammation, malabsorption, and immune triggers that may drive symptoms like bloating, fatigue, irregular digestion, brain fog, skin issues, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Vibrant Labs Gut Zoomer test for?

The Gut Zoomer analyzes over 300 markers in your stool, including microbial diversity (bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites), inflammation, digestive function, gut barrier integrity, and immune activity.

How do I prepare for the Gut Zoomer?

Please avoid the following before collecting your sample:

  • 72 hours before: no antibiotics, antifungals, antiparasitics, laxatives, or stool softeners.
  • 48 hours before: stop probiotics, digestive enzymes, and antacids.
  • 24–48 hours before: avoid high-fat meals, red meat, and probiotic-rich foods (yogurt, kefir, kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi).

Other notes:

  • Fasting is not required.
  • Please drink plenty of water (about 8 glasses/day) for 2–3 days before collecting.
  • Collect your sample on a normal day of eating.
  • If you recently had a colonoscopy or barium enema, wait 2 weeks before collecting.

Who should consider a Gut Zoomer test?

Ideal for individuals experiencing chronic digestive symptoms, unexplained fatigue, immune dysfunction, skin issues, food sensitivities, or those committed to proactive, root-cause health optimization.

How long does it take to get results?

You’ll typically receive your personalized, clinician-ready report within 1-2 weeks after the laboratory receives your sample.

Is this test covered by insurance?

Most insurance plans do not cover the Gut Zoomer test, though HSA/FSA plans may offer reimbursement. Check with your plan administrator for details.

How can I interpret and act on my results?

ConciergeMD clinicians will help you understand your Gut Zoomer report and translate findings into targeted dietary, lifestyle, and supplement strategies tailored to your gut health goals.

Can the Gut Zoomer identify food sensitivities or intolerances?

While the Gut Zoomer does not directly test for food allergies, it evaluates immune activity, inflammation, and microbial imbalances that are commonly associated with food sensitivities, bloating, and digestive discomfort. These insights help guide targeted elimination diets and gut-healing strategies.

How is the Gut Zoomer different from a standard stool test?

Unlike conventional stool tests that focus on a limited number of pathogens, the Gut Zoomer analyzes hundreds of microbial and functional markers, offering a more complete view of digestion, immune response, inflammation, and gut barrier health for root-cause analysis.

Can improving gut health impact energy, mood, or immunity?

Yes. The gut microbiome plays a key role in neurotransmitter production, immune regulation, and metabolic balance. Addressing gut imbalances identified through the Gut Zoomer may support improved energy levels, cognitive clarity, immune resilience, and overall well-being.
